PSF -- Who Needs a Son?

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Dear Sweet Caity. You are Our first born. Our sweet girl. But you, my dear are a TOTAL TOMBOY. It is so fun to watch you as you grow and see JUST how different you are from your sister. To see your personality blossom.

While Playing with Izzie outside, you discovered several DEAD crawdads in the yard. My assumption is that they either crawled up from the neighbors pond OR one of the cats brought them over as gifts.

Why most children (especially girly girl ones) would run screaming from this discovery -- YOU relished in it and had to have a cup to keep your "crabs" in so you could show grandpa.

Photobucket

Following your crustacean discovery. You went on the search for more offensive creepy crawlies -- ICK.

WORMS

Photobucket

Ladybugs

You are a Connundrum to me sometimes. I never know what you will come up with next -- but I love every day of finding new discoveries with you.

PSF: Kiss Kiss baby sissy

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Photobucket

Photobucket

Funny looking pics, eh!

Izzie has become obsessed with my "baby sissy" belly.

She loves to pat it, talk to it and love on it.

On this day, she was pulling up my shirt, kissing my belly saying "Kiss kiss baby sissy"

I just knew it would make a great photo op for our scrapbook.

I know I've been MIA (hey I did warn you) But I've been busy building a house. Or rebuilding I guess is more accurate. So today's PSF is to show that while I've been offline -- I acturally did accomplish some stuff.

This story picks up AFTER the removal of the old sheetrock and flooring and the putting up of the new sheetrock.

First -- You put on the paint. Picked out by oldest child.

Photobucket

Paint the whole room
Photobucket

Add wall decor
Photobucket

Add some flooring. Put up trim and add beds
Photobucket

Make sure to add a couple of dressers too
Photobucket

Hang Curtains, Add comforters, and Voila -- It's a bedroom
Photobucket

Keep on the look out for the playroom next :D

A very special Photo Story Friday

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

I will post this warning here first. This isn't a 100% happy story. But it has to be posted today and I think even sad stories need posting sometimes. So unless you want to possibly cry (Hey, I'm crying), I would tell you to pass.

So Here we go.

A glimpse into the past.

I'm taking you back to June 2008.

Photobucket

Unfortunately, this isn't a story about a baby shower or a welcome baby party. No. This is the photo memory book of Caleb.

Caleb was born at 17 weeks gestation to some dear friends of ours (and cousins!) on June 5, 2008. He died seconds after birth.

Photobucket

At the funeral for Caleb, Jess and Chris had this table set to the side, displaying many things. The little outfit, blanket, etc that the hospital had given them. Caleb's feet and hand prints. A book they had bought for Caleb. An angel. All things meant to go in his nursery.

Photobucket

I share this story today, because in all its bitter sweetness, today was Caleb's due date. Today we should have been celebrating his birth (unless he was a late boy) and reveling in the miracle that each new life brings.

Instead, we all remember the loss felt that day in June. We all remember the pain and grief, felt, not just by Chris and Jessica, but all of us.

But, today, we also celebrate. Celebrate because, Chris and Jessica are not alone. They miss their son, oh yes, they do. But they also have hope. And they have love. And they have the miracle of new life in their home.

They will finalize the adoption of Andrew on March 4th, 2009. And then they will officially be a family of 3, but We know, that they don't need that final paper to be a family. To be parents.

They've been parents all along.

PSF -- The story of two Sisters

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

When I was pregnant with Izzie, Caity insisted throughout the last half of my pregnancy that I had a baby elephant in my tummy. No idea where she got that idea from, but she was insistent. And she loved her baby elephant.

Photobucket

Then Izzie was born.
Photobucket

Grandpa helped her look through the nursery windows.....

Caity was disappointed that there was no elephant. But decided she liked her baby okay.

Photobucket

And from that day she decided that Sisters were better than elephants.

Photobucket

Photobucket

She takes her big sister duties, very seriously
Photobucket

And then of course, there is the annoying.......

Photobucket

But all in all, they love each other. The support each other. And they even sometimes like each other!

PSF -- The Christmas shoot

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Photobucket

Photobucket

Last year, I somehow got it into my head that I could get some good pics of the girls in their christmas dresses, dress it up in photoshop and make the perfect christmas cards to send out.

It was a simple plan.

So, I got them all dressed up. Set them on the bed. And the following occured.

Photobucket

When one wasn't pouting, the other was screaming.

Photobucket

One would look away, while the other looked at the camera.

Photobucket

and chew on a tissue
Photobucket

I finally decided that no one would appreciate a card that said MERRY FREAKIN CHRISTMAS and gave up.

This year, there will be no joint picture. There will be no fancy dress, just simple snapshots.
